About Beetlejuice on Broadway

BEETLEJUICE is back on Broadway, and we can finally say the three words we love most: It's showtime... again! Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. With an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score that’s out of this Netherworld, BEETLEJUICE is “SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!” (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it’s a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!

Great staging, Ambitious, Campy, Commercial

See it if you want to see a visually fantastic show that dazzles with cool special effects. The set and lighting are terrific. Filled with fun moments

Don’t see it if you want a sophisticated evening of classical theatre. This is a show that tries hard to be a crowd pleaser.

Refreshing, Funny, Enchanting, Absorbing

See it if A funny, zany, fantastical, disjointed, big budget spectacle centering on Beetlejuice and Lydia from the cult classic film.

Don’t see it if You are looking for a traditional Broadway show. This is like Book of Morman meets Thriller.

Cartoonish, Great staging, Enchanting, Quirky, Funny

See it if You love Beetlejuice. The musical effectively captures the film’s tone, macabre humor and aesthetic.

Don’t see it if You’re looking for something deep or meaningful. The plot has been fleshed out from the film, but feels dumber and more cartoonish.
